Position Overview
As an AI Specialist – Industrial Systems with our team, you will play a key role in developing artificial intelligence solutions for industrial automation and optimization. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of industrial AI applications, providing technical leadership in machine learning model development and deployment in challenging operational environments. In addition to hands-on AI development, you will lead the charge in advocating for best practices in industrial machine learning, ensuring our products deliver measurable performance and efficiency for Fortune 500 clients across oil & gas, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop predictive maintenance AI models for industrial equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, and critical rotating machinery.
  • Implement production optimization algorithms using real-time SCADA data, sensor feeds, and operational parameters to maximize throughput and efficiency.
  • Develop safety anomaly detection systems for industrial operations, focusing on early warning systems for potential incidents and compliance violations.
  • Collaborate with field engineers and operations teams to validate AI recommendations and ensure practical implementation in live production environments.
  • Lead the integration of AI models with existing industrial control systems, ensuring seamless operation with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, establishing best practices for industrial machine learning development.
  • Stay current with new AI technologies and industrial applications, evaluating new approaches for computer vision, time-series analysis, and edge computing in harsh environments.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related technical field (Bachelor’s with exceptional experience considered).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models in industrial or similar high-stakes environments.
  • Deep expertise in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and modern MLOps frameworks including MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar platforms.
  • Proven track record with time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling using sensor data and operational parameters.
  • Experience with industrial protocols and systems (OPC UA, MQTT, ModBus) and understanding of SCADA/DCS architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies for model deployment and scaling.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience working in fast-paced, mission-critical environments where system reliability is paramount.
